Born in Cambridge, England of Indian parents, Sudeep was whisked off to Australia at the ripe old age of 12 to start a new life in the former penal colony.

After graduating university in 1995, Sudeep joined Australia’s largest advertising agency, George Patterson Bates, working on a range of accounts including Energizer Batteries, News Limited, AAMI Car Insurance and Smith’s Snackfoods.

In 1997, Sudeep left the security of George Patts to set up his own planning consultancy specializing in the youth market, Vertigo Communications. Clients included: Sony Playstation, Lion Nathan, Virgin Atlantic and Phillip Morris.

Following two years at the helm of Vertigo, Sudeep returned into agency life with a planning position at BBH, London. The real fun began when Sudeep relocated to Tokyo to launch the BBH office there, working on the pan-Asian Levi’s Strauss account and Johnnie Walker and spent several years immersed in Asian culture.

After two and a half years of hectic living in Tokyo, Sudeep made the move back to BBH London, where he worked on the Pan European Levi’s account, a selection of the agency’s entertainment projects and the prestigious Barnardo’s account.

Joining W+K Portland, USA in 2003, Sudeep added another work visa to his passport and worked with some of the most influential brands on the planet; Nike (Global), EA, Miller, Starbucks and P&G (Old Spice). He helped elevate strategy within the agency culture and grew the planning department from 2 to 16 people, culminating in W+K voted the “…number one place planners want to work at in the USA…” – in the annual planners survey.

In January 2008 Sudeep moved back to Australia to become one of the 3 founding partners of Droga5 Sydney, alongside David Nobay and Marianne Bess, an extension of the Droga5 brand established in New York in 2006. Sudeep rose to the position of CEO of Droga5 Australia, charged with combining the agency’s strategic, business and creative functions.

In less than 5 years Droga5 Sydney grew to over 140 people with blue chip clients including: Woolworths, Qantas, Telstra, Coca Cola, Qantas Frequent Flyer and the global Tiger Beer business.

During his time in Australia, Sudeep has also filled the position of Chairman at the peak professional advertising body: The Communications Council. He has also been Chairman of the Australian Account Planning Group and juror for the inaugural Cannes Creative Effectiveness Lion.

After Droga5, Sudeep turned his attention to the startup world as one of 4 founding partners and ultimately an advisory to a health care `business, Tyde. Tyde is a unique health platform that puts the consumer in control of their health information by combining health data sources in a smart, secure and centralised place. At Tyde he helped lead the customer acquisition strategy, marketing plans and initial fund-raising activities.

In 2016, Sudeep worked with 72andSunny in Los Angeles on their Asia Pacific plans and led strategy on their global Adidas business – including creating the agency’s first work for China. The following year, Sudeep joined Publicis India – as Chief Strategy Officer and Managing Partner. In India, Sudeep worked with marquee clients: Heineken, Nestle and Skoda.

In August 2018, Sudeep chose to move back to Australia - leaving agency life behind – for a role with KPMG working both in the firm’s rapidly growing Customer, Brand and Marketing advisory team within Management Consulting as well as a leadership position in the firm’s Brand & Engagement team – as Head of Brand Strategy. Within a year, Sudeep was promoted to Partner.

Sudeep’s current role at KPMG straddles both the Consulting business - leading the KPMG Creates team delivering a range of strategic, creative and technology based solutions for clients to solve business problems. He also holds the position of Partner In Charge for Brand & Marketing, leading the firm’s own range of marketing services from advertising to CRM and digital to events,

Sudeep is an avid fan of electronic music, contemporary culture, F1 and a sneaker aficionado. He is married with a 16-year-old daughter, an 14-year-old son and 7-year old Labradoodle (who loves eating dirty socks!).
