SUDEEP GOHIL

Born in Cambridge, England, Sudeep was whisked off to Australia at the ripe old age of 12 to start a new life in the former penal colony.

After finishing his university degree in 1995, Sudeep joined Australia’s largest advertising agency, George Patterson Bates, working on a range of accounts including Energizer Batteries, News Limited, AAMI Car Insurance and Smith’s Snackfoods.

In 1997, Sudeep left the security of George Patts to set up his own planning consultancy specializing in the youth market, entitled Vertigo Communications. Vertigo’s clients included: Sony Playstation, Lion Nathan, Virgin Atlantic and Phillip Morris.

After two years at the helm of Vertigo, Sudeep was seduced back into agency life with a planning position at BBH. Initially based in London, the real fun began when Sudeep went to Tokyo, where he worked on the pan-Asian Levi’s Strauss account and Johnnie Walker and spent many hours immersed in Asian and Japanese youth culture.

After two and a half years of hectic living in Tokyo, Sudeep made the move back to BBH London. Where for two and a half years he continued his efforts on the Pan European Levi’s account, while also working on a selection of the agency’s entertainment projects and the prestigious Barnardo’s account.

Joining W+K in 2003, Sudeep added another work visa in his passport and had the opportunity of working at one of the most prestigious agencies in the world with some of the most influential brands on the planet.

During his time at W+K Sudeep worked with a host of clients including: Nike (Global), EA, Miller, Starbucks and P&G (Old Spice). He also helped renew the agency’s faith in strategic planning, grew the planning department from 2 to 12 people and along the way making W+K the “…number one place planners want to work at in the USA…” – based on the annual planners survey.

In January 2008 Sudeep became one of the 3 founding partners of Droga5 Sydney (alongside David ‘Nobby’ Nobay and Marianne Bess) – an extension of the Droga5 brand established in New York in 2006.

In less than 5 years the agency grew to over 120 people with a number of blue chip clients including: Qantas, Telstra, Coca Cola, Qantas Frequent Flyer and Tiger Beer.

During his time in Sydney, Sudeep served as the Chairman of the peak professional advertising body: The Communications Council, he was also the chairman of the Australian Account Planning Group and a juror for the inaugural Cannes Creative Effectiveness Lion.

In 2016, Sudeep helped build Tyde - an 'electronic health records' startup which has recently launched a unique platform for people to more effectively engage with their health and well being. He also been both an investor and mentor in Australia's premier startup incubator: Startmate.

Most recently, Sudeep moved to Mumbai, India to take on a position as Managing Partner and Chief Strategy Officer for Publicis Worldwide.
